PDF file format How to recode your XR series remote handset Download with pictures If your remote has an on-off switch on the side or back, make sure it is ON. Method 1: XR4-5-6-7 with 5 speed controller - Connect the battery to the trolley. Power on the trolley with the red button on the handle. Within 2 seconds press left button of the remote handset and hold for 3 seconds - then press the right button of remote handset. The remote handset should now be synched to the trolley's ECU (electronic control unit). Method 2: XR4-5-6 and XR7 with 5 speed controller - Connect the battery to the trolley. Press and hold the forward button on the remote while powering ON the trolley. Hold for 15-20 seconds. The trolley should start to move forward at about the 15 sec point. The handset is now synched and all functions should work. XR7 with 7 speed controller and all XR9 - Connect the battery to the trolley. Press and hold the Red stop button on the remote while powering ON the trolley. The Green light on the HANDLE control will flash twice within 6 sec or 3 times immediately depending on controller version. Remote will now be synched to the cart. Test all remote functions.
